a) The first mention of the Gentiles
The first mention of the Gentiles in Scripture, (Torah, the Old Testament, the Tanakh) is in the book of Genesis, Chapter 10:5 “By these were
the Isles of the Gentiles divided…” Long before Israel was called out to be a separated people for Yahweh there were Gentiles, and only Gentiles.
Mankind became divided into nations and this word ‘nations’ is the true meaning of the word Gentile (Strong’s Concordance No. 1471 Gentile =
“Goy” meaning: a foreign nation, people, of the nations)
b) What nationality was
Abraham then, originally?
Abraham was first called Abram. Genesis 11:26 first mentions him as
being the son of Terah, who was the son of Nahor, who was himself
the son of Serug, the son of Reu, the son of Peleg, Eber, Salah, Arphaxad and
lastly Shem, the son of Adam.
He was simply a person from among the nations of developing peoples in the world. He only became a Hebrew, the head of Yahweh’s people of faith,
His Israel, when Yahweh appeared to him; “I will make of thee a great nation…and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed…” (Gen. 12:1-3).
Before that, he, along with all mankind were ‘of the nations’ i.e. Gentiles.
c) Gentiles are all those who are not Israel
The Gentiles are the non-Jew, non-Israelite, non-Hebrew peoples of the world from the beginning of creation until now. They are mentioned throughout
the Bible from Genesis 10:5 to Revelation 22:2.
d) The last mention of them
They are last mentioned in Revelation 22:2 where they will be healed by the leaves of the wonderful tree bearing twelve fruits which shall be in the
“ midst of the street of…” the River of Life which will flow from the amazing throne of Yahweh and Yahshua in the New Jerusalem.
So, I make no apologies for stating that there are to be myriads of Gentiles or people of the nations who will be healed and very much alive after
the appearance of the New Jerusalem on the new heaven and new earth. Read it for yourself in Rev. 21 and 22. Revelation 21:24 states that whole
nations of the saved will walk in the light of the City. Not only Israel therefore will be saved, but there we see myriads from the nations will
also be there.
